Summer Flight Academy 2025
Inspiring the next generation of aviators, the BPA Summer Flight Academy equips students aged 16–19 with hands-on flight experience and foundational knowledge for a career in aviation.
Held at Houston Southwest Airport, this two-week program includes 10 hours of flight time and 40 hours of ground school led by volunteer instructors with over 165 years of combined aviation experience. High-achieving students may even have the chance to complete a solo flight. Ready to take off? Join us!
Operation Skyhook
The largest event attended for Black Pilots of America is the Annual Memorial Day Fly-in “Operation Skyhook.” Member chapters arrive for a weekend of fun, aviation camaraderie, and serious flying competition.
Most competitors own their own aircraft and take immense pride in showing off not only the look of their most prized possession, but its performance and capabilities as well.
Annual General Membership Meeting
The Annual General Membership Meeting is a cornerstone event for Black Pilots of America, bringing members together from across the country to celebrate our shared mission and vision.
Held every August at various locations, this gathering provides an opportunity for fellowship, collaboration, and meaningful discussions about the future of our organization and aviation community.
